Miu Miu always makes a statement with their carefree and youthful accessories–but this season, the brand focused on more vintage inspired styles. At the flagship store in Paris, mannequins were wrapped with strands of blue-toned pearls and held furry handbags embellished with athletic patches. One necklace that particularly stood out was a red, pearlized piece that had multiple strands–equal parts antique and new. It was like something someone had found an a roadside vintage shop, reinvented. Other mannequins were topped with newsboy caps–the kind that recalled the New York City working woman from the 1940s. Clip-on pearl earrings and punchy fur belts added more 1940s vibes, but the colors and textures clarified that this collection is firmly rooted in the future.
Here, some of our best photos from the Paris installation presented to editors, buyers and press late last month. If you need us, we’ll be hitting up the best vintage stores in New York in search of double strand pearl necklaces and chubby fur bags.
