Valentine’s Day may have already passed for the year, but there’s one lovely obsession I can’t get over year round: heart shaped jewelry. And honestly, the more chunky and vintage-looking, the better. Traditional heart shaped lockets are fine, but have you seen chubby pink heart shaped rings? ’90s style heart shaped jewelry in particular is the best–if you can find plastic rings secondhand, there’s really nothing better.
One of my favorite examples of the heart shaped jewelry trend is Sandy Liang. The designer makes both necklaces and rings in very, very cute heart shapes. Alison Lou also makes incredible precious stone heart shaped rings, in magical materials like rubies. And the heart shaped jewelry trend goes even further–some of the coolest emerging designers such as Chopova Lowena have repurposed heart shaped charms on their large charm necklaces.
Perhaps the best thing about heart shaped jewelry, however, is the fact that you don’t have to spend a lot to get a great piece. In other words, it doesn’t need to be fine jewelry to look amazing. The hardest decision is choosing whether you’ll don just one piece or many, all at once.
