Mood: Mom Jeans

Yes, you read that correctly. I’m in the mood for mom jeans.

They’re everywhere right now: Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Lily-Rose Depp and Rihanna are just a few of the celebs who have worn them with crop tops, hoodies and bodysuits. Quartz just reported that Polyvore says that searches for mom jeans between October 2015 and May 2016 were up 250% versus the same time the previous year.

So, why? Fashion continues its obsession with bodycon trends ranging from bodysuits to crop tops, and mom jeans feed into that. Imagine tucking a shirt into low-rise skinny jeans. It just doesn’t look as cool as it would with mom jeans. The high-rise waist and butt-shaping qualities have the skinny jean beat for what’s trending in fashion right now.
