Yesterday, New York Fashion Week came to an end! I had an extremely busy week and now I feel like I can finally sleep. Here’s some of my highlights.
I spoke with legendary model (just don’t call her a supermodel–she told me the term was coined by “whatever losers”) on beauty, diversity and how things have changed in fashion for The New York Times on the first day of fashion week, as she mentored young designers at VFiles.
I interviewed rappers Young Thug, Fetty Wap and Rich the Kid about where they eat, hang out and more for Vogue as a pre-fashion week kick-off. Who knew they ALL THREE love Barneys.
I chatted with Pyer Moss designer Kerby Jean-Raymond on how his show was inspired by both Bernie Sanders and Bernie Madoff for The Observer. This designer is one who always has really interesting concepts and continually uses his work as a platform for activism.
I talked to Donna Karan about how she’s been wanting to do a see now, buy now fashion collection for over 10 years for Allure. Meeting her in person was kind of amazing, to say the least.
I interviewed rising Ford model Luisana Gonzalez (seriously, watch this face), rounded up the best runway shoe moments and talked to Rebecca Minkoff about her fashion show, which took over a street in SoHo all for Allure.
Caroline Vreeland and her BFF blogger Shea Marie have some of the best outfits at fashion week. I found out how they plan them all out for The Observer.
And lastly, I reported live on shows for The New York Times–interviewing designers, hair and makeup teams backstage before the big production. You can read my mini reviews of Jeremy Scott, Raquel Allegra x Assembly New York and Lacoste.
Oh, and I attended shows and presentations of course. That’s all, until next February.
