Salvador Dali: One may know him as an artist of all sorts. His repertoire includes drawing, painting, film, sculpture, and photography. But were you aware of his collection of grandiose hats? Dali often wore imaginative hats; from Rhino’s horns to Pa de Crostons bread.
Much like the exotic pet the author often totted around, extreme hats and headwear seemed to be just as much as a staple in Dali’s world. It wasn’t rare to see him wearing everyday objects as hats.
Salvador Dali even collaborated with the fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli on an iconic shoe hat. The shoe, turned upside down with a chunk heel sitting upwards, is probably the most famous of all of Dali’s hats. Take a look at more of the artist’s bizarre hats here:
